# What can you do with an electrical and computer engineering degree?

**What the degree involves:** Circuits, signals, embedded systems, and labs where things occasionally smell burnt.

This degree sits between physics and software, and the destinations do too. Some graduates go deep into hardware, some into the embedded software that runs on it, and a large share cross fully into software or network engineering, where the degree is treated as interchangeable with computer science.

14 common destinations, ordered most common first rather than highest paid first. 0 of 14 have a master's or a doctoral or professional degree as their BLS typical entry education, and 14 of 14 are projected to grow. A major is a body of study, not a job assignment: these are destinations of people who took the degree, not what the degree entitles anyone to.
